When It's Cold, I Cook.

Yesterday it hit the 60s, but today it's cold and rainy.  Let's heat up with some cooking.

One of my favorites is the Joy of Cooking's interpretation of Corn Bread Tamale Pie.  You can use protein crumbles for the hamburger, add beans, use salsa instead of chili pepper; it's a great base recipe to play with.

"Romeo's New Plaything" or "Boredom Defeated!"

What will I do today?

I tire of the same old toys.

Hello!  What's this?
This smells just like Mommy's ears!
This is the most awesome toy ever!
I could watch it for hours....

...and then drop it into the water dish until the cotton bits come off.

Spooks at Work

Some of my co-workers put some effort into honoring Halloween.  I didn't dress up; shame on me.  Maybe next year.

No "Before" Photos for Comparison

Today Olga cleaned for me.  I took pictures of the kitchen and bathroom when she was done.  However, only a few will really know how filthy they were before.

Finally! Good Turkey Pictures

Everybody except me has been getting great pictures of the Harvard Square turkey.  I've kept my camera handy for days and checked out favorite turkey haunts on my breaks.  Today, the turkey reappeared at the tiny garden outside the Inn at Harvard.  Gaze upon its magnificence!  (The turkey's; not the Inn's.)

Nostalgia Fest

It is a scientifically-proven fact that all the most awesome people came of age in the seventies.  So let's look back at those halcyon days.

This is what was know as a record or LP.  It records a concert given by my high school choir and orchestra.  I do not appear in the photo, because the trumpets sat way in the back.

The band had pins made.  Someday this will be a valuable antique!

In 1973 my friends gave me this going-away-to-collage gift: a toy gumball machine.  It really worked, but I only chewed up a couple of the gumballs.  Those you see here are original--forty years old!

Animals, Cont.

A goat chews on my bag handles.
That's my knee.
Laureen befriends a piglet.
Lynn holds a Lionhead rabbit.
